Cullowhee - Franklin Loop

This route follows the Ring of Scott until Highlands, NC, then it travels on SR106 to the south of Franklin, NC near the NC/GA state line. You travel north on Hwy 441, where there is a wide shoulder, then turning right on Otto, NC. You follow several back roads until connecting back onto Elijay for the final climb. There are a few gas stations in Highlands and one near the bridge (turn right for a few hundred yards instead of left across the bridge) on Hwy 64 after that. The distance is about 83 miles from campus an the elevation gain is approximately 8,400’.
