This ride was named by some local cyclists as a “hellish” ride. It is a scenic loop that goes from Sylva, NC through Cullowhee and Tuckasegee and then on to the Parkway via NC281 - Charleys Creek - NC215. It follows the Parkway up and over Richland Balsam (water available just past the overlook at a natural spring on the Balsam side) and then back down to Sylva via backroads. Elevation gain is approximately 7,500’. |
