Waterrock - Cherokee Loop |

This is a local favorite scenic loop that starts in Sylva, NC that takes the Blue Ridge Parkway from Balsam Gap over Waterrock Knob, through Soco Gap, and on to the end of the Parkway in Cherokee, NC. You go through Cherokee to Whittier, NC and then follow Thomas Valley Road and connect back to Sylva, NC. Caution: There are some tunnels on the descent from Soco Gap down into Cherokee. Elevation gain is approximately 5,900’. |
