Waterrock Knob

Depart from downtown Sylva, NC and ride an out-and-back to the Waterrock Knob overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is the second highest point on the Parkway next to Richland Balsam. Facilities are available (water, restroom) at the overlook when the Parkway is open. You can access the Parkway via a maintenance road and then it is nine miles of uphill to 5,820’ at the overlook.  Elevation gain is approximately 4,500’.
